It has been a summer of life-changing events. A trip to Brazil, with Compassion International, made me more determined than ever to encourage all my friends to get involved in this ministry. I got a chance to meet my sponsored child, Carlos. That meeting was filled with tears and laughter. I had no idea how much sponsorship meant to these children.

They cherish every letter and picture. The pictures I had sent to Carlos had gone through a flood. The images had been washed from the paper, but Carlos kept the blurry pictures.

Diane fell in love with a little girl named Ranada and sponsored her on the spot. She had been severely abused and lived in crushing poverty. We wept as we realized that, for many of these children, Compassion sponsorship is the only hope they have. Please come to our website and consider making a difference in a precious little life!

In the midst of our joy, our family is sobered and saddened by the horror that hurricane Katrina has inflicted on so many lives.
