Can it possibly be Lighten Up Monday again? Today’s clip is about the day I crashed a perfectly good airplane on a perfectly calm day. The story will remind you of two truths which could be good life lessons OR you might just enjoy a good laugh. Either way have a nice week!

shutterstock_406010773When I was a small boy, my military minded father insisted on scrubbing me with Lava soap. Lava was a perfect name, because the soap had rocks embedded in it.

Lava could remove grease and grime and even skin and bones if you kept scrubbing. It was like sandpaper for humans.

HOWEVER! When the scrubbing was over and I rinsed off I felt like a new person. Refreshed. “Spic and span.” Uber-clean. Occasionally my soul needs a cleaning like that.

A Revealing Question

shutterstock_301473029An old friend I had not seen for years asked “the question” in the middle of a casual lunch.

It came out of nowhere.

He set down his coffee cup looked directly at me and said,

“Ken, if you were given the opportunity to choose between getting a tax free check for $50,000,000 (that’s 50million!) today, or you could go back to age 5 (that’s five)  and live your life again knowing all that you have learned during your 70 (that’s seventy) years on earth, which would you choose?”

I pondered the question for days…
