The Evolution of a Story! No Monkey Business!

It’s MONDAY!  After a freezing week across the nation it is finally time to lighten up and warm up!

There are two clips in today’s post.  The first clip was filmed in about 1990 in front of 11,000 people and the second was filmed about 21 years later and became part of a motion picture titled Fully Alive.

They are both on the same subject but end up going in different directions.  I thought you might like to see how the emphasis of a story grows and changes over the years.

This second clip starts out the same but hang in there.  See if you can see the subtle changes and the different direction the clip took at the end.

So which one do you like the best?

Do you have stories in your family that have grown and changed over the years?

These are two of my favorite DVDs  and both are available on my website. If you purchase them, please don’t forget to share them with friends.

Comments

  1. The story was better told in the first one (the second seemed rushed). I liked the detail in the first one, though the TONE is much better in the second. The first one also had the fact that God loved impossibilities, and that was left out of the second.

A meshing of the two performances would turn these two skits into one awesome one!

(you know, I do this enough that maybe I should be a comedy coach..lol! What do YOU think? 🙂 )

  2. If I hadn’t seen the first one then the second one would have been more funny. I really loved the 1st one. Laughed and smiled all the way through it. I also agree with sillypoet that the first one talked about how God loves impossibilities. Love what you do Ken.

  3. I love them both Ken, but the second one I liked the most. I love seeing old clips of you along with new ones. Your growth as a performer and storyteller gives encouragement to me to keep going. Thanks for sharing these side by side!

  4. Either way, I appreciate how you teach us to laugh at ourselves, our weaknesses and mistakes. That said, I enjoyed the delivery in the second better, but the presentation of God’s answer to impossibility is priceless.

  5. I like them both, but had to laugh especially at your comment about Scott Fowler. Legacy Five is my favorite group.

  6. The way my memory is working I forgot what the first video was by the time I started watching the second one. So I guess I liked them equally.
