What to Do When You’re Not Feeling “Joy to the World”

shutterstock_233694844How interesting that for many people the “Season to be Jolly” is often filled with a sense of sadness and depression. Even those who revel in the true meaning of Christmas can find themselves feeling the holiday blues.

Having been there and done that, I don’t want to do it again. I did some research and discovered that it is a common occurrence. So how can we experience a brighter Christmas when we begin to feel the “Pinch of the Grinch?”

A Sweet Space Cadet

Friends, it’s Monday, and you know what that means… It’s time to Lighten Up! Have you ever had trouble making a decision? Sometimes having too many choices can be a good thing. I hope you enjoy hearing the story of my friend, Beth, and the relief she experienced by realizing she just needed to “pick one!”

God Sees Everything

A kindergarten teacher handed out a coloring page to her class. On it was a picture of a duck holding an umbrella. The teacher told her class to color the duck yellow and the umbrella green.

But little Johnny, who always did things his way, colored the duck a bright fire-engine red.

After seeing this, the teacher said, “Johnny, how many times have you seen a red duck?”

Without looking up, Johnny replied, “The same number of times I’ve seen a yellow duck holding an umbrella.”

Moses and a Sheep Stick

It’s Lighten up Monday! This is a short clip from my message on Moses and the burning bush, a fascinating look at all the excuses Moses made when God called him into action.

Please take the time to read Exodus 3 and 4. See if you can name the excuses Moses tried to use. I identify five of them in my video “A Wimpy Prophet, a Butane Bush and No Excuses.” We still use the same excuses today. Enjoy this clip and please share the DVD with your friends.
