Does Jesus Bite?

Hey! WAKE UP! It’s Lighten up Monday!

My daughter was about three when she tottered up to me, removed the pacifier from her mouth, and asked, “Does Jesus bite?”  Wow!  I know a lot of adults who are still asking that question.

I pulled her up on my lap and told her that Jesus NEVER bites.  Sometimes the people who follow him bite, but he is always faithful and will never bite you or leave you.  Satisfied, she popped the pacifier back in her mouth and waddled away.

I was reminded of that childhood conversation when I heard this story…

In sixty years of life I have wandered down many paths, experienced terrifying lows and exhilarating highs.  I don’t have all the answers, but I can tell you this, “Jesus doesn’t bite.”  No one can “sic” Jesus on you, but you can call him and find out for yourself (Rom 8:31-39).

As always, I’d love to hear your comments.

  1. I’ve heard this story before, more than likely someone quoting you. (But then, Milton Berle I think is credited with saying that there is no such thing as a truly original joke…)

I know this is part of a longer video, because your friend is doing a REALLY good impression of Ed McMahon in several of your clips you share! Have a great Monday!

  2. Good Shepherd / German Shepherd, I get those confused. 🙂 I have this video! I’ve been known to treat God like a german shepherd myself from time to time. That’s okay though, so did King David and Jonah. Didnt work for them either. I think God laughs when I do that. Great corrolation between the clip and the reality of Christ. You’re right, He doesn’t bite. I’m rather grateful about that. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Just finished your ‘FULLY ALIVE” cd set … was listening in my car & some of them kept messing up so I didn’t get to hear everything you said … will have to let the library know about it … or maybe it’s my cd player … anyway I FULLY enjoyed what I could hear …
