Am I somebody’s pet peeve?

You are looking at a picture of one of my biggest pet peeves! A pad of frozen butter served on top of a piece of warm bread they call “toast?”

No restaurant names here, but there are a lot of rocking chairs nearby.

Unless you are willing to wait until spring for the butter to melt, any attempt to combine these items into an edible entity will be futile. The best you can hope for is a completely shredded piece of bread and a still frozen pad of butter with only a few pathetic remnants of bread clinging to it. Yummy.

Made me think of the scripture that says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:6

I’m afraid my interaction with people, especially if there is conflict, often lacks the element of grace; kind of like frozen butter on toast.

Just wondered if I am the only one.

  1. Alone? Oh pah-leeze!!! If we were truly honest we would all claim a chapter in that book! (a’course there are folks like me who’ve chronicled entire volumes…but in my defense, I do try to learn from my mistakes. You got a problem wit dat?!)

  2. I think I’ve been annoying a time or two in my life. In fact, I’m one of my wife’s biggest pet peaves! Joking aside, it’s an excellent point you humorously make – this think of trying not to be someone’s pet peave.

  3. I’ve seen this segment before and experience the same prejudice ALL THE TIME. I guess having cerebral palsy for 50 years will do that to a guy. I found away to make money at it. Guess who’s laughing now…all the way to the bank.
By the way, Franklin has paid for itself.

  4. The only one? Hardly. Sadly, I fall into sarcasm, or punishing silence in the face of such issues. And I’m certain beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I can be someone’s pet peeve at those times. I’m really trying not to be like that today – Great visual you have here, thanks for posting this.
